Local Link Transport Forum Meeting

LocalLinkLogo

Please come along to the meeting in King House at 2pm on Wednesday 9th March. This will be a meeting to discuss the availability of rural transport (already in operation but many people in the Boyle area are unaware) especially for hospital appointments to Sligo and Roscommon. Roscommon having no direct public transport from north to south of the county has been frustrating for many who would like to use the facilities in Roscommon and expensive if taxis have to be used instead.
There are other options, other than hospital transport which are at the discretion of Local Link but unless you are at the meeting you will not be aware of what is on offer.
While you may have your own transport, or relatives that will assist, there are many other ‘alone’ and elderly people without such a facility. So if you are aware of a neighbour or anyone else who would benefit from having this information to hand, please come along to the meeting.

MK Financial – Hot Topic #1

Plan for your retirement!
What do you need to do to avoid a huge drop in income?

• The State Retirement age will increase to 67 in 2021 and 68 in 2028. If you retired today the drop in income, if relying solely on Contributory State Pension, is estimated between 67–85% for a single person.
• The earlier you start funding for your pension, the greater chance you have of closing this gap!
• Currently for every 1 retired person there are 6 people in employment … by 2050 there are expected to be less than 2 people in employment for every retired person. It is up to every person to make sure that they do not fall into the pensions shortfall time trap!
